What is linux and how does it work?

Overview

Linux is a Unix-like open source operating system (OS). An operating system is the software that allowing users directly manage through a system hardware, CPU, memory and storage. The OS reside between software and hardware and makes the communication between all applications and resources. It support on almost all computer platform including x86 anx ARM.

How does the OS Work?

Imagine that Linux OS is a ship engine and the engine can run it’s own. But it becomes a completely built ship when it gets a propeller, seats and hull. Without the engine running properly the shit won’t run on water.

Linux based OS adapt Linux Kernel that manage hardware resources and set of program packages which keeps up the entire operating system.




The OS subsume core components like GNU tools. Those components provide the user to manage resources given by the kernel, install additional softwares, adjust security and performances and more.
